Turkmenistan has announced that they are ready to evaluate proposals from Turkish companies for the establishment of a new RO‑RO line across the Caspian Sea. This development is seen as an important step toward strengthening logistics cooperation between Türkiye and Turkmenistan.
According to information shared by the Trade Counsellor’s Office of the Republic of Türkiye in Ashgabat, Turkish Ambassador to Ashgabat Ahmet Demirok held a meeting with Turkmen officials responsible for transportation and communications. During the meeting, it was stated that Turkmen authorities expressed a positive approach toward projects aimed at launching and operating a RO‑RO line for Caspian crossings.
The Turkmen side reportedly views the realization of this route by Turkish companies favorably and is open to evaluating proposals submitted within this framework. This initiative is expected to create new transportation alternatives across the Caspian Sea while deepening logistics integration between the two countries.
Officials also emphasized that logistics and transportation companies interested in the project would benefit from establishing direct contact with Turkmen authorities to ensure a smooth process. Companies seeking further details and wishing to participate in the initiative were advised to get in touch with the Türkiye–Turkmenistan Business Council.
If implemented, the new RO‑RO line is expected to enhance Türkiye’s competitiveness along Central Asia trade corridors and contribute to the development of more efficient regional logistics networks.
